"The Meadow", as some of you may know, was part of the farm that Rebecca grew up on. The Meadow was an extension to Rebecca's backyard. There was a creek that made it a bit difficult to get to but all the Hoffman kids managed to cross the creek with no problem. "The Meadow" is sometimes referenced to as "The Field" and has been a significant part of Rebecca's life. For example, growing up, when Rebecca's Dad would bush-hog the field, he would sometimes have Rebecca ride on the tractor with him for company or just to have some QT time together.

The Field is also the place where from before Rebecca was born would be and continues to be the location for the annual Fourth of July event. As some of you know of the labor of love, there's a great deal of sweat equity invested before that party and the field becomes a playground for families and adults.

The Field was also a place that Rebecca would go when she needed to think or work off frustration - it was a safe place. Rebecca and her sister would often go swimming in the creek or the river with adult supervision and found that the field became a clubhouse for farm girls who had no swimming pool. Lots of imaginative play took place there and many friends spent time there as well. Sometimes the field would flood if the dam was let out and the river was high.  When this would happen, the water in the field formed "Lake Rebecca". The Field was the place that Rebecca learned to drive the red truck and later her Chevy Caprice Classic all the way up to her first standard car.

The field has become a fantastic place of transition and memory.  Like the grass and bamboo that continues to grow, so do the events there leaving new memories. It is only befitting that such a special place be the location of such a special occasion.

Rebecca is very excited, as is Bill to have all of the people who are special to them join them there for this occasion.

An Important Note

The night air is cooled by the Chattahoochee River and the meadow’s probably not a great place to test your new stilettos!
